It was an older lady that misjudged how deep the water was. The Edge stalled out and she got out the back hatch and then the car floated over and sank into the ditch. Also, yesterday, the trunk was full of shopping bags and today, it’s empty. I hope she came back and got them, but I doubt it. People suck.

People do suck, how could you ruin a perfectly good vehicle like that.

It’s just never worth it. But, I am one to talk as I don’t even live in an area which has flooding problems.

She was lucky the water wasn’t just a bit deeper. A month or so ago a car near me slipped down a slipway and floated off. Four people dead. Top tip: you can’t open power windows once the battery reaches the water. You can’t open doors (even if the central locking hasn’t shorted out in the water) because of the water pressure.

The wipers and lights stayed on for longer than I expected. The car was in the water more than an hour before they finally stopped.

This area floods but yesterday was quite extreme. We got two inches of rain (and hail) in two hours.

Yeah it was fairly loaded and looks like it was a recent one, too. Right before the most recent redesign.

Dear so-call FORD, your name is flagrant false advertising!

It sounds like the water just sits, and there isn’t an effective drainage system.

Yep. Our city’s drainage problem is notoriously bad.

Cities were designed before climate change was a thought in anyone’s mind, expect all of this to get worse over time as weather continues to shift.

My city has flooded like this since the 1930s. The drainage is just that terrible.
